Friends of Vintage Base Ball was founded by Gary “Pops” Goldberg-O’Maxfield (Commissioner), his wife Karen “Kayo” O’Maxfield (President), and Patricia Williams (Vice President). They headed the effort in 2009 to get Hartford to create the Hartford Base Ball Grounds at Colt Meadows. They formed the Coltsville Vintage Base Ball League (CVBBL) in 2010 which played its games at Colt Meadows.

In 2013, the Friends of Vintage Base Ball commemorated the site of the historic Hartford Base Ball Grounds, oldest extant ballground in the country, with granite markers at each of the bases plus pitcher’s box.

They used to sell vintage base ball equipment but it appears they no longer do.
