East Windsor’s 250th Anniversary celebration

Wethersfield Red Onion had been scheduled to play the Lisbon Tunnelmen as part of the East Windsor 250th Anniversary event on Saturday May 5th. With Lisbon not fielding a team this season, the Woodstock Hilltoppers have stepped up to be their opponent but they can’t field an entire team so players from Thames BBC, Lisbon Tunnelmen, Waterbury Connors, and Newtown Sandy Hook will fill out the squad.

The game will be played at East Windsor High School 76 S Main St, East Windsor, CT 06088.

Lisbon Tunnelmen out for 2018 season

The Lisbon Tunnelmen will not field a team for the 2018 season.

Fellow ballists,
The Lisbon Tunnelmen have had a really tough offseason. We lost 6 players to either relocation or retirement and another 2 will be sidelined for the foreseeable future while injuries heal for a total of 8 players lost. Having said that we are down to 6 committed players (barely enough for an infield). We have tried to recruit this winter but have not had the response we were hoping.

I’ve polled my team and we have decided we will sit out the 2018 season and use this time to recruit for next season. I wanted to give everyone enough notice so teams might still be able to reschedule. I apologize if this communication comes late to some as we have been waiting until the last minute to salvage a team but it hasn’t panned out.

Good luck in 2018 fellas!

Disappointing news! We hope those Tunnelmen who wish to play base ball this season will find a spot on one of the other Connecticut teams’ rosters. We hope to see you back in 2019, Lisbon Tunnelmen!
