Basic Purpose

Navy Federal seeks an individual with demonstrated ability to achieve results and enhance our quantitative analysis of financial performance. Experience with maintenance and processing related to Asset/Liability Management systems, QRM in particular, is preferred. The role will be responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of our behavioral modeling in order to support analysis/reporting of Navy Federal’s profitability, liquidity, capital, and interest rate risk to management and our business unit partners.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative analysis to estimate the impacts of various interest rate and assumption shocks to Navy Federal’s balance sheet risk management
  • Analyze and evaluate the reasonableness and accuracy of the model results across all scenarios
  • Provide support in preparing monthly reporting to senior management
  • Assist in the monitoring of actual monthly performance as compared to annual budget forecasts to understand drivers of variances and their impact to ongoing performance
  • Evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness by researching and analyzing internal and/or external industry trends, markets, and other benchmarks

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of financial analysis, financial modeling, and ALM theory and techniques; with preference towards hands-on experience. Understanding of, and prefer experience with, prepayment and loss modeling
  • Experience with measuring and managing EVE, NII, EaR, VaR, Stress Testing, Scenario Analysis and/or Sensitivity Analysis
  • One to three years of experience with evidence of progressively significant responsibility in market risk, Asset/Liability management (ALM), credit risk or financial modeling within the financial services industry
  • Attention to detail and maintaining controls, and a demonstrated ability to research, analyze and interpret complex statistical and financial data
  • Experience participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
  • Persuasive and diplomatic communication, both verbal and written, of facts and conclusions related to complex analytical results and issues
  • Effective interaction with all levels of management and staff as well as external entities (e.g. regulators, auditors and vendors)

Additional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, physics, or related field with knowledge of or experience in finance
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (CFA, FRM, or PRM) preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) experience or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of, and extensive experience with, credit union or retail banking operations
  • Proficiencies utilizing various reporting platforms and query languages including, but not limited to, Power BI, Tableau, VBA, SQL, and Python

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $74,400 - $127,200 annually

Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.
