Kelly Box & Packaging Corp. has been in business for more than 60 years as a respected major supplier in the packaging industry. We are a financially sound organization with a well established reputation for innovation and quality. We are currently looking for a Structural Graphic Packaging Design Trainee. This position will assist in creating and developing new packaging designs utilizing corrugated, foam, plastic and wood material for retail point of purchase displays and manufacturing industries. This is an entry level position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work with the sales team and customers to provide effective solutions for the customer’s product through assessment of information provided and translating it into creative structural design solutions, considering visual and structural integrity and cost effective manufacturability and assembly.
• Create designs in a variety of formats and materials, including structural prototypes of packaging, three-dimensional drawings, photographs, illustrative renderings, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Create graphic designs, logo development, and digital implementation.
• Manages and disseminates information, prototypes, and electronic files through the entire design process into production, assembly, and placement.
• Enhance existing concepts or designs.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Currently working toward a degree in a design related or engineering field is preferred
• Experience working with CAD and Adobe Illustrator is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
• Excellent spatial reasoning skills
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Able to lift 50lbs
• Able to sit, stand and walk for periods of time
