Our swift growth has created an opportunity to add a project manager to help oversee product iterations, software development timelines, track budgets and prioritize human resources to ensure we maintain our excellent on-time on-budget culture as we grow.
This position is responsible for Project Management across multiple automotive diagnostic product lines, including guidance to hardware and software development teams to execute product road maps and understanding customer requirements which will drive Redline Detection’s strategic business plans. This position works in close coordination with our Head of Technical Products, Production Manager, Procurement, and Global Director of Sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Project management of multiple product segments.
· Responsible for project planning to meet market and customer timelines.
· Evaluating potential projects and parameters with internal and external stakeholders.
· Responsible for assisting to prioritize research and development efforts, intellectual property protection and support make-versus-buy evaluations for technology/products.
· Maintaining oversight of all stages of product development including testing, evaluation and troubleshooting.
· Responsible for creating a project budget and ensuring adherence to all project budgets.
· Communication and tracking of project milestones, deliverables, action items and change requests.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or Software Project Management preferred
· 5 or more years of Project Management experience successfully managing software and integration projects with cross functional engineering teams (systems, electronics, software, safety & reliability).
· Solid computer skills include MS Office and design software such C, C++, C#,
· Understanding and ability to apply development approaches such as Agile methodologies and SCRUM principles.
· Experience and understanding of industry best practices and tools for project management of software projects
· Proven track record of influencing within cross-functional relationships and with key decision makers.
· Knowledge of general mechanical vehicle functions a plus but not required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
· Ability to clearly communicate technical details to senior managers and external business partners. Must have excellent written and spoken English skills.
· Ability to produce clear and detailed project status reports, tracking documents, and other project management standard tools.
REASONING ABILITY
· Superior analytical skills. There will be the necessity to define problems, collect data, establish facts and develop plans.
· Ability to interpret a variety of technical requirements for software related development.
· Ability to gather, manipulate, and interpret large amounts of data; aggregate and process those to clearly present insights and recommendations to management.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Intermediate to advanced knowledge required in computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
· Must be able to work under limited supervision, taking initiative when necessary.
· Must be VERY organized and detail oriented.

MORE DETAIL ON THE POSITION DAY TO DAY
You will ensure coordination between all software project elements by developing project plans and schedules and ensure compliance with project plans by monitoring the status of cost, schedule, and task completion.
You will consult with management and review project proposals to determine timeframe, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
You’ll be the primary team member expert in: Project Planning, Project Monitoring and Control, Organization Management, Scope Management, and Risk and Opportunity Management.
You’ll direct activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
You will etablish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation for both the internal organization and external contractors.
You will develop processes to ensure the developed software application meets all project requirements.
You’ll ensure compliance with contract requirements through coordination and management of all project activities. Knowledge of government military specific contractual and compliance requirements such as DFARs, ITAR, EAR, etc., would be a plus but not required.
You’ll prepare frequent project status reports to keep management, clients, and others informed of project status.
