The Associate Product Manager (PM) will work the Product Manager or Sr Product Manager growing the firmware, software and networking product lines that are fundamentally changing the industry. The candidate will manage both day-to-day response to customer requests for assistance and documentation for the software products. The Associate product manager works collaboratively with our engineering team, other product managers and vendors to develop comprehensive solutions. The scope of products includes embedded firmware, software applications and network communication software. The candidate acquires an in-depth knowledge of industry practices, applications, and business opportunities to help shape the software development roadmap. The Associate Product Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining cutsheets, operations manuals, Quick Start Guides, FAQ’s and videos for software products. The APM will also help to create and maintain training documents as well as assist with training classes. They will work with the Sr. Product Managers, Product Managers, Marketing Manager with implementation of the strategic marketing plan. The candidate helps represent the voice of the customer, usability and expected response in products. The position supports marketing communication, training, customers and sales to provide a complete understanding of the operation of all software features and capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in defining and documenting software product functional requirements
• Provide assistance, coordination, call meetings, and document plans
• Assist with release updates, new products and marketing launch
• Document customer network connectivity requirements, e.g. via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, other
• Help define software for a variety of platforms; PC, IOS, Linux, Android
• Support products incorporation of best practice for User Interface (UI) design
• Contribute to software development project management, Agile, Scrum, as needed
• Participate in reviews for system integration test and assist with expert user testing
• Develop clear user documentation source and training source material
• Work with team members to ensure software usability and reliability

Qualifications

• BS Business IT/MIS or BS in CS/EE
• PMP/Agile Certification a plus
• One to Three years planning and implementing relevant firmware/software solutions
• Suitable combination of equivalent education, training or experience will be considered
• Strong customer service skills
• Demonstrated development of written requirements, use cases and interface specifications
• Demonstrated knowledge of User Interface Design, Menu Structures, Graphical Interface, etc.
• Technical knowledge of data communication, Bluetooth protocols and embedded firmware
• Proficiency in MS Power Point, Word, Excel, Project
• Excellent communications and team skills
