Job Description :

Are you a passionate Sales Manager, savvy, loving hotel environments, making new connections, and providing excellent customer service from first contact to the signed contract? Then, this position is the right one for you as you will be at the forefront of our two hotel properties in Washington, DC.

We need someone who wants to impact our hotel's revenues by actively and effectively soliciting new accounts while maintaining all our accounts in their market area. Alongside our Area Director of Sales, the Sales Manager assists in developing and implementing success-driven sales strategies to maximize hotel room and event revenues.

Your day-to-day

  • Develops and implements diverse sales strategies within the corporate and leisure markets with the Area Director of Sales.
  • Solicit assigned accounts to achieve or exceed budgeted room revenue and improve the brand's performance in the marketplace.
  • Spend the majority of time prospecting and cold calling for new accounts and thoroughly saturating existing accounts. Makes sales appointments and represents all hotel properties persuasively to all potential clients and partners.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled sales meetings focusing on the process evaluation of those strategies and activities and participates within the team on all sales and marketing activities like Social Media, PR, and Revenue Management.
  • Oversee sales-related negotiations, including but not limited to concessions, contracted rate negotiations, deposit schedules, group contract negotiations, and event details as needed.
  • Assist with completing the hotel's annual budget and meeting or exceeding all established sales goals.
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within the marketplace.
  • Successfully perform the sales process (i.e., establishing rapport, qualifying, meeting needs, handling objections, and closing).
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the existing client base and explore ways to increase revenue from this base. Maintain and monitor production on assigned accounts.
  • Invite clients to the hotel for site tours, lunches, etc., and travel to off-site sales calls, meetings, conventions, activities, etc. Meet and greet on-site clients.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions for direct sales segments.
  • Abide by prime-time selling activities to optimize revenue-generating activities.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of the marketplace.
  • Participate in maximizing ADR and revenue by contributing to revenue management meetings.
  • Travel to meet clients and attend trade shows.
  • Work at least 40 hours per week, which may occasionally include weekends.
  • Perform any other task or duties as requested by the Area Director of Sales.

  • A plus: Three years experience in hotel sales or relevant fields and knowledge of the local business community, including competing hotels, DC markets, and corporate communities.
  • A high school graduate with a diploma or equivalent.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
