Job Description :

Reporting to the CFO, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for all Human Resources functions (including recruitment, onboarding, retention, termination, culture, company event planning, and other activities) for a well-established mechanical services and construction company with 200-300 employees. Works collaboratively with department managers to optimize the employee experience, develop and implement Human Resources policies, and assure realization of the business's strategic objectives.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Takes accountability for assuring the company is compliant with all applicable labor/employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains the company’s human resource management system (HRMS) (Sage 100 Contractor, Paylocity, Benefitsolver).
  • Processes all employee status changes within the HRMS, including hiring, terminations, wage changes, vacation/PTO accrual rate changes, garnishments, 401k contributions/loans, benefits elections, changes to health enrollments, vehicle allowances, fuel and parking reimbursements, and other similar items.
  • Coordinates and conducts exit interviews with all terminated employees to determine reasons behind separation.
  • Investigates employee complaints with discretion and unbiased opinions, manages conflict resolution between employees as well as employer/employee.
  • Provides direction and supervision to subordinate administrative staff.
  • Communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
  • Periodically reviews and makes recommendations to executive management team for process improvements relating to the Human Resources Management System.
  • Reviews and processes workers comp claims.
  • Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
  • Performs other reasonable tasks as requested by the Company’s executive management team.
  • Keeps current with all covid-related regulations and guidelines and assists with implementation and management of covid-related practices and procedures.
  • Assists with monthly health insurance billing reconciliations.
  • Works with management team to manage and maintain the company’s safety log, first aid claims, and other health/safety related items.
  • Manages mandatory state and federal training for harassment prevention.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive human resources experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or above preferred
  • English fluency required; Spanish fluency preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and sense of emotional intelligence; ability to resolve interpersonal workplace issues constructively.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, positive attitude
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
