MetLife is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Collaboration and Enablement team. This person will be responsible for the analysis and documentation of technical requirements as well as designing/developing the solution in conjunction with onshore and offshore resources. It is an exciting time to join the team as we embark on a journey to transition from on-prem tech stack to cloud tech stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Business and application SMEs to identify and mitigate risk and execute upon end-to-end technology development to deliver solutions
• Participate in requirements gathering, elaboration, and refinement sessions with product stakeholders (e.g., functional/nonfunctional requirements, wireframes/flowcharts, features, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria)
• Analyze business requirements/needs to determine best technology/platform fit aligned with MetLife architectural standards and strategic roadmap
• Work closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and designs are translated accurately into working stories
• Contribute to the creation of User Stories, Tasks, and various documentation as appropriate
• Understanding business logic and process flows, working on the design and development of business logic, process models/flows and UI screens to implement in a BPM (Business Process Management)-based system (K2/Angular/Power Apps, etc.)
• Develop Structured Query Language (SQL), update data models and implement common database best practices (indexes, triggers, and data structure)
• Provide on-going support on daily basis

Essential Technical Skills and Business Experience:

Required:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field
• 1–2 + years of work experience with MS SQL/Oracle Database, experience in writing stored procedures, dynamic queries, and troubleshooting performance issues
• 1-2+ years of experience in programming languages (C# and Python)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with the business team
• JavaScript skills and programming experience in several front technologies including HTML5, CSS3, Ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap, Blazor and Angular
• Create REST API leveraging .net framework/core
• Experience working with SQL Server, including the design and development of stored procedures
• Understanding of unit testing and mocking techniques, automated testing platforms, and unit tests for CI/CD

Preferred:

• Experience in BPM or collaboration tools
• Experience working in Agile environment. Knowledge of SAFe framework.
