Technical Business Analyst with Java Development (Technology Specialist II) - Digital and Technology Partners - Remote, Req# 2829924

Summary of Position

Mount Sinai’s Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team is seeking a Technical Business Analyst with Java development skills to assist the Enterprise Data Engineering Team with understanding requirements and interfacing with business teams to help the Engineering team develop the right solutions for the business. This role provides support to existing web applications or services hosted on Azure. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand DevOps tools like GIT, JIRA and Jenkins. The business analyst should have a good understanding of the application development stack to articulate the requirements efficiently. They should be a self-driven individual who can work with business teams, cloud architects, project managers, offshore implementation team and stakeholders across the health system.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work on requirements analysis and design solutions to meet the business needs. Provide design proposals following best practices considering data, business and service layers for all system changes such as defects, business impacts, work prioritization and estimation.
  • Help EDS Cloud and App Engineering teams to maintain documentation at every stage of SDLC development.
  • Mandatory skill is to have at least 3 years of experience in implementing web applications using Java stack.
  • Assess business requirements for completeness and accuracy while guiding them towards existing solutions or best practices.
  • Gather requirements and write functional specifications – BRD, TRD etc.
  • Develop code using Java stack (Java, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Boot, etc.), understand Azure App Service Environment and ability to perform periodic code reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with different teams to smoothly guide the project from various environments to production.
  • Develop best practices and routines to ensure project teams follow them.
  • Monitor and manage existing web applications hosted on Azure (using ASE).
  • Assist in the rollout of new applications, problem fixes, and enhancements of software.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree with 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
  • 3 years of experience in developing Web Applications using Java11, Spring framework, Hibernate/JPA, SpringBoot.
  • Conceptual experience with API design implementation.
  • Java Unit test tools and test coverage build tools.
  • Test Driven Development (TDD) exposure and understanding.
  • Solid experience in DevOps toolset – JIRA, GIT, Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
  • Strong understanding of database design with experience in Oracle DB, PostgresDB, SQL Server DB or any similar DB system.
  • Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills; outstanding verbal, written and visual presentation skills.
  • Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations, structured thinker and effective communicator.
  • Ability to work independently, establishing strategic objectives, project plans and milestone goals.
  • Ten years of related experience, in-depth knowledge of associated technology areas that could impact area of responsibility; healthcare technology experience preferred.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $120,000.00 - $180,060.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
