Software Developer Position

As a Software Developer for KPI you will play a key role in the analysis, design, development, customization, installation, testing and maintenance of our Warehouse Execution/Control System product software. The custom applications you create will assist our clients in becoming more efficient and provide a better service to our clients.

Project Work:

• Design, develop, and customize our current Warehouse Execution/Control System (WES/WCS) software product for new and existing clients, as well as participate in the development of new industry leading products
• Developers must work directly with customers to gather, analyze, and create functional requirements and integrate customizations into the current software base
• Developers will travel to client sites to perform system configuration and implementation of developed solutions and may include training end users
• Developers will prepare all required documentation detailing the technical solution and system functionality

Requirements and Desired Experience:

• 5+ years of Java Development skills
• Proven experience in software design and development as evidenced by experience in software development
• Developer must be skilled with writing and executing complex SQL queries and understanding relational databases
• Verify the accuracy and validity of all software developed, including the preparation of sample test data and the execution of program, job stream and system testing
• Stellar verbal / written communication and organizational skills, along with interpersonal skills that allow for collaboration across a diverse group of people
• Design or modify system / application code to accomplish desired functions in an optimum manner and in conformance with software development life cycle standards using Agile framework
• WES/WCS functional experience is a big plus
• Ability to travel (~20%) is desired

Support Work:

• Maintain and fix issues, including the improvement of the performance and reliability of our current Warehouse Execution/Control System Product software for our existing customers. The Developer must understand the specifics of the implementation for each customer they work with
• The Developer will work directly with the customers to understand reported issues and schedule patches with fixes
