Join our Accounting team! We are hiring an Accounting Manager to lead our Paper Transport accounting team. This role will lead accounting and finance functions for our asset based trucking business. Use your experience to lead a team of dedicated, hard-working individuals focused on billing, collections, pricing and accounting functions.

How can you be successful in this role?

  • Lead monthly financial reporting provided to banks and daily cash management and reconciliation processes
  • Support CFO with treasury management and equipment financing functions, opportunity to grow into lead point of contact for treasury and financing
  • Lead the team that processes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Collections for our trucking business
  • Partner with Operations to ensure alignment in meeting customer invoicing requirements so that invoicing is completed accurately and timely
  • Work closely with operations team to support new customer account set-ups and ensure timely and accurate invoicing within a repeatable, scalable process
  • Monitor financial performance of new business compared to pricing assumptions and work with operations and sales to address variances
  • Work with operations leadership to identify areas to improve profitability and lead process changes needed to ensure visibility and accountability to create results
  • Work with IT to continuously improve invoicing and payment processes with a focus on ability to scale for growth
  • Prepare team and processes for future growth both organic and through acquisitions

What job qualifications do you need to bring?

  • Minimum 4 year Bachelor’s degree; MBA or CPA is preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month end/year end close processes
  • Strong technical background in accounting systems and MS Excel; Microsoft Great Plains experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment with attention to detail
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Exemplify great communication and organizational skills, as well as an eye toward continuously improving the way we do things.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems and the transportation environment a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
