Summary:

The Moser Energy Systems Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements, verify financial records and transactions, analyze cash flow, review budgets and forecasts, assist with audits, and develop paperwork for regulatory reporting.

Education/ Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is required.
• 2 to 5 years of Accountant experience is required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) preferred.

Supervisor:

Controller, unless otherwise designated.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare financial statements and regulatory reporting documents.
• Analyze financial reports.
• Maintain account balances and bank statements.
• Assist with audits and taxes.
• Prepare financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders.
• Manage general ledger and assist month-end and year-end close processes.
• Supervise accounting department, junior employees, and accounting assistants.
• Assist the Controller in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for managers, executives, and board members.
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Abides by all policies and procedures established by Moser Energy Systems.
• Assists with any task required by the direct supervisor.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Expert in Microsoft Excel and Adobe and proficient with entire Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit and/ or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as typing.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to interact with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
