Degree Requested: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related area. (In lieu of degree, will consider equivalent combination of work experience, training and related education)

Job Description

This is a position that opens the door for growth and future opportunities. As a Programmer Level 1 you will be working alongside Programmer Level 2s and Engineers with the installation, startup and commissioning of automated industrial control systems. You will have times in which you are working independently and others in which you are assisting a Programmer Level 2 who may be remote. Programmer Levels 1s may be responsible for writing cradle to commissioned code depending on job complexity and scope. In the field you act as the technical resource for Technician Level 1 and 2, you need to be able to offer guidance on control wiring solutions, VFD programming, network layout, instrument scaling and site commissioning as a whole. You will also need to have some basic radio skills to troubleshoot communication issues over remote telemetry systems. You should have a basic grasp on HMI programming as well as ladder logic.

Programmer Level 1s will receive on going training with the hopes of elevating them to a Programmer Level 2 position. Timber Line strongly believes in promoting from within. Required Skills:

• Basic understanding of PLC wiring and programming. Candidate should understand syncing vs. sourcing and have high proficiency working with 4-20mA analog loops.
• Ability to read and modify electrical schematics. Basic familiarity with NEC standards.
• Familiarity with calibrating and programming instruments
• Familiarity with programming and commissioning VFDs
• Should be proficient with Ladder Logic and program layout
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI programming platforms such as iFix, Wonderware, Factory Talk Ignition and RedLion.
• Basic networking capabilities
• High proficiency with Windows Operating Systems and associated packages e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook
• Understanding of telemetry systems utilizing UHF, VHF, ISM 900 and IEC 802.11xx is a huge plus.
• Strong problem-solving and research abilities.
• Ability to work independently or part of a team to design, develop and modify software control systems
• Able to lift 80 pounds
• Must have a valid unrestricted Driver License.

***Note this position requires a mix of a field and office time and requires travel, mostly within the state of Colorado. Timber Line highly values continuing education and is willing to work with/train the right individual.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour
