Located minutes from downtown Austin, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is a level IV Designated Trauma Center with more than 600 healthcare professionals working together to provide inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Nurse (RN) to join our team! This is a PRN position working a temporary agreement in which the RN commits to working 3 Day shifts per week for the 12 week length of the contract.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
• Assists physicians during examinations and procedures
• Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
• Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Performs a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas, or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact
• American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 90 days of hire
• Minimum of two (2) years of medical/surgical telemetry experience
• Ability to be flexible and work autonomously a must
