JOB SUMMARY:

Works with Manufacturing Engineers to improve manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This position affords the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of manufacturing processes, from the planning stages through implementation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to the following:

• Prepares and maintains process documents
• Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
• Creates CAD drawings of fixtures and tooling, using the company print/file standards.
• Works with the engineering, production, quality, tool room and maintenance to facilitate improvements to the manufacturing process.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all documented safety procedures and postings
• Provide temporary support to other manufacturing departments or shifts as necessary
• Understand, adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including IATF 16949, and safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• An Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in a related field, (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Manufacturing experience a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with D.O.E. a plus
• Experience with APQP process and associated quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC, MSA, etc.) a plus
• Working knowledge of drawing reading/interpretation, including GD&T
• Solid computer skills, including MS Word & Excel. 2D and 3D CAD experience (AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Mix of factory floor and office setting.
• Exposure to loud noise
• Exposure to hot and humid conditions
• Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water.
• Hearing protection and eye protection is required at all times in all production and assembly areas
• Steel toe boots are required at all times in all production and assembly areas
