Job Description

The Design for Logistics Engineer contributes to reach operational excellence target by influencing the product development with logistics pre-requisites in the early phases of the product development projects.

Scope Manage design for logistics pre-requisites in the product development projects on behalf of logistics stakeholders. The job includes selecting the pre-requisites that are most relevant for logistics; cooperate with product development in order to influence the design of the product so that the product itself or its components can fit better the logistics processes and logistics pre-requisites.

The work is mainly regional, with flexibility to participate in global projects when necessary. The design for logistics engineer must be able to balance logistics pre-requisites with other pre-requisites with a holistic perspective.

CAD is the main tool used on a daily basis to review and suggest changes on the product design.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Manage design for logistics requirements in early phases in product development projects (collect, verify, validate and deliver solution proposals to projects)
• Review and suggest design changes to the product according to logistics requirements and packaging solutions
• Contribute actively to the development, and continuous improvement, of tools/templates and global way of working in order to secure that logistics issues are covered during product development projects and the way of working is standardize thru regions.
• Reach an effective cooperation with the concerned stakeholders
• Involve different logistics functions securing their input in the development of the global logistics tool/template to be widely used during early phases of product development projects
• Balance logistics requirements with other functions
• Explore new ways of working, applying new tools and techniques such as AI

Required Competencies

• Engineering degree (Bachelor or Master) or equivalent
• Very good knowledge of 3D CAD system, catia or creo
• Knowledge and interest in developing solutions using Artificial intelligence (AI)
• Understanding of product development methodology
• Experience from working with logistics and supply chain within plants or similar
• As all documentation is in English, proficiency in the English language is required.
• Open minded and ability to balance different perspectives
• Excellent communication skills
• Analytical skills
• Basic knowledge of project management

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
