We are Recruiting on Purpose a New Product Development Manager & Technical Sales- Power Industry for our Client's Metro Atlanta office.

Product Manager to be responsible for research, engineering and technical development for bringing new products and processes to market while maintaining existing products. The Product Manager ensures that the necessary internal resources, tools and processes exist to support and grow the product or service.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the process of generating new ideas for products and services that align with the company’s goals and growth strategy.
  • Evaluate products, processes and services to ensure that a viable business case exist. Perform market analysis to ensure that revenue targets are achievable.
  • Develop business plans to justify startup costs and convey the strategy for assigned products and services. Present plans to senior management to obtain support and approvals needed to move projects forward.
  • Utilize knowledge of the company’s resources and core competencies to create training and implementation plans. Work with internal teams to ensure successful development and, eventually, integration of products and services into the business.
  • Create clear and effective technical specifications for the product or service. Work with the Business Development, Corporate Development and Operations organizations to implement new product specifications as well as updating existing specifications.
  • Work with the Business Development team to develop specific project proposals.
  • Develop partnerships that support the success of the product or service.
  • Develop and train the organization to effectively sell, engineer and deliver the product or service. Create documentation and references to ensure consistent and effective training practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on assigned products and services. Support sales efforts at all levels and ensure the creation of winning proposals.
  • Attend industry events, participate in trade groups and deliver presentations that support product and service strategies.
  • Contribute to other projects and plans, not specifically noted, to ensure the Company reaches its financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to speak clearly and confidently to customers. Must be able to write technical documents using proper style and grammar. Must be able to speak effectively in front of groups and communicate effectively to utility industry executives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of experience product development or sales/marketing activities is preferred.
  • Experience in the electric and/or telecom utility space is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple internal teams outside of Product Management (Business Development, Operations, Contracts, Software Development, Senior Management, etc.).
  • Demonstrates self-motivational qualities and sound character.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work varied hours as needed.
