Asahi Refining Florida has an immediate open position for an IT systems Administrator.

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, networks, and servers. The incumbent will support the Miami locations Salt Lake City, Brampton, and NYC locations to address any information technology issues and train users on how to use various systems. This position will also assist production with troubleshooting and maintaining computerized automation systems.

This position has the following responsibilities:

  • Order, assemble, install, and maintain personal computer and telecommunications equipment utilized by the site to ensure the individual users have the business computing requirements to effectively perform their job responsibilities.
  • Advise on the selection of, and be familiar with, software packages and their suitability in providing solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Provide support and assistance to users of personal computers to enable them to make the optimum use of available hardware and software features.
  • Remain conversant with current personal computing and telecommunications technology developments, both hardware and software, to ensure the site utilizes the most effective solutions for personal computing needs.
  • Ensure all personal computers and telecommunications equipment utilized by the site conform to security and audit standards, and that all relevant procedures such as archiving, and system backups are carried out on a regular basis.
  • Specify and program personal computer database solutions to business requirements.
  • Understand the various databases employed by the site and the modes of information/data sharing between systems to facilitate the effective and cost-efficient retrieval of information.
  • Aid all sites as required or directed by the IT Manager.
  • Work on special projects, new installations, implementations of systems, and provide the needed support and IT expertise.
  • Monitor automated production servers, troubleshoot and isolate problems, and provide secondary support to maintenance and outside contractors.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster prevention and recovery plan for hardware failure, communications failure, and for human resources to always ensure a secure efficient business unit.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as required.

Qualifications for this position are:

  • A university degree or college diploma in an information or network technology field.
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years previous experience working in an end-user desktop support role or computer operations environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT Systems including VMware, Active Directory users and permissions, Azure, and Office 365.
  • Advanced skills in various operating systems such as Windows 10/11, Server 2012/2019 and 2022.
  • Experience creating and maintaining a disaster recovery and backup management plan, experience with Veeam backup solutions a plus.
  • Established history of supporting networked PCs in LAN/WAN configurations including TCP/IP, NAT, DNS, routing, Domain/Enterprise environments, etc.
  • Knowledge of networking, including switching, routing, SonicWALL firewalls, and VLAN's.
  • Advanced printer / peripheral device troubleshooting.
  • Experience with patch management.
  • Excellent skills resolving software/driver issues in Microsoft Windows OS (Desktop and Server).
  • Familiarity with Remote Support tools, e.g., WebEx Support Center, TeamViewer etc.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to prioritize work.
  • Must be a self-starter that can work well independently with minimal supervision.
