International Wind is a maintenance and repair service provider for the burgeoning commercial wind power generation industry. We specialize in providing repairs primarily in the field at customer locations (Wind farms). Our field workers are trained and are required to maintain certification for climbing, working at heights, confined space entry and specialty processes such as composite repair for blades.
Due to exceptional growth and future opportunity, we are seeking a detail oriented, well organized, and highly motivated individual to assist with Wind Operations. This person will provide day-to-day operations support for projects and customers under his/her purview to include work scheduling, training, logistics and management of personnel to ensure safe, smooth, and effective support for our client’s needs.

Job duties*
The Operations Support Manager’s over-arching purpose is ensuring that the business operates safely and effectively in support of our client’s needs. Duties and obligations that support that objective include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure a strong commitment to safety

  • Ensure everyone understands they have the power to stop work when circumstances lead to uncertainty
  • Establish a strong relationship with designated customer contacts by demonstrating transparency, integrity, and honesty in dealing with each assigned client
  • Function as the single point of contact maintaining continuous client contact to build and/or strengthen the relationship
  • Deliver strong and frequent leadership engagement with assigned clients to ensure we understand and can deliver on their needs
  • Present a proactive posture regarding our performance – except and react promptly
  • Install a culture of continuous improvement and set high standards and expectations for our field personnel
  • Conducting periodic reviews of procedures and processes to identify improvement opportunities within the operation of the business
  • Communicate with field personnel frequently to understand operational challenges and support requirements to help ensure successful execution of contracted work
  • Remain available and approachable to our field employees
  • Oversight of operational and contract budgets with focus on establishing savings while maintaining or improving effectiveness
  • Understand all contracts associated with assigned clients
  • Ensure that operational plans support execution of the contract and identified work scope
  • Diligently enforce best practices with respect to spend for items such as vehicles, travel, hotel, materials, and contracted services
  • Conduct periodic site visits to:
  • Reinforce safety culture
  • Improve customer relationship
  • Garner feedback from field employees and
  • Ensure field performance and behavior supports contract requirements and best practices with respect to safety, quality, and schedule

Job Requirements: *

  • 5 years of relevant Wind experience with at least 1 in an operations role preferred
  • Field Service experience in support of periodic maintenance activities including logistics for mobilization and demobilization
  • Experience with recruiting and staffing highly desirable
  • Can quickly identify key resources and build high performing teams
  • capable of providing input for a succession planning model that maintains a defense in depth for position evolutions.
  • Effective communication – written and verbal – with both management and craft
  • Ensure transparent communication regarding status, planning and expected outcome
  • Influence others (internal and external) to improve project outcomes
  • Effectively manages his/her time and that of other’s
  • Experience and/or active certifications as a trainer for GWO and/or ENSA a plus
  • Desire a candidate with established ties to Wind Industry management. OEM and Wind Farm connections desired in both USA and Europe
  • Understanding of wind turbine blade production/engineering principles highly considered
  • Rope Access experience highly desired
  • Existing certification to provide training in support of certification to Global Wind Organization (GWO) standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
