POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Human Resources Generalist I will:
1. Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
2. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
3. Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
4. Meets with new hires during orientation regarding benefits and follow up if necessary.
5. Conducts open enrollment annually, and serves as the point of contact with the insurance broker.
6. Runs reports for the union and management as requested.
7. Monitors the Sick Leave Incentive program.
8. Writes letters to terminated employees, and removes from systems to include PlanSource, KRONOS, INavigator, Teams, etc.
9. Enters payroll and human resources data into payroll system. Meets with new manager’s to train on payroll processing approval.
10. Develops and maintains affirmitative action program; files EEO-1 report annually, maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
11. Participates in administratitive staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
12. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
13. Act in any other reasonable capacity as requested by the President/CEO. Conduct business in a way that is consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
14. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures agency’s compliance. Responsible for Agency compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
15. Recommends, evaluates and participates in Staff Development for agency.
16. Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
17. Maintains and facilitates employee recognition programs.
18. Maintains working relationship with Union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day to day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.
19. Act in any other capacity as directed by the President/CEO.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma and 5 years of experience required. Associate’s Degree preferred. Must have strong interpersonal, computer, and numerical skills. Must have the ability to carry out detailed plans and an affinity to work with people with disabilities. Must be able to interface with people of all backgrounds.
