This Graphic Designer position is an opportunity for a qualified candidate to showcase their experience and creativity on a variety of client-based projects. Areas of contribution range from social media graphic & info-graphics, to brochures, to e-newsletters, to video animations.

Global-5 is a national award-winning public relations and integrated marketing firm serving government, transportation and transit clients. Work will be performed in our Longwood offices. Applicant will work under the direction of the Creative Director and be on a team responsible for developing graphic design content including electronic maps, handouts, display boards, videos, websites, e-newsletters and other materials for public distribution.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Consults with Creative Director and assists in developing graphic content & materials that are creative and easily understood by the public
• Translate complex engineering schematics and GIS data into simplified and clear illustrations and maps
• Assist in layout and output of print materials such as proposals, media kits.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of functional responsive websites and e-newsletters
• Attend public meetings and media events, providing occasional photography services as neede

REQUIREMENTS:

• Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, Advertising, Videography or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in a professional environment
• Desire to learn new skills and expand technical abilities
• Functional knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign
• Ability to read, interpret and draw road maps in Adobe Illustrator Experience with GIS mapping platforms a plus
• Knowledge of entire Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Some experience with video production and post-production using Adobe Premiere Pro, and motion graphics experience with Adobe After Effects
• Some DSLR photography experience
• Some front end web development experience, including limited experience with client-side scripting languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Some experience with e-blasting software (such as MailChimp or Constant Contact) as well as ability to hard code HTML for e-newsletters
• Experience working with web content management systems platforms such as Wordpress, Drupal and/or Joomla
• Comfortable in a Windows-based environment
• Organized and thorough with a strong work ethic
• Desire to learn and expand skill set
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
• A sense of logic and common sense

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicant to work from the company’s Longwood office location
• Applicant should possess ability to lift 15-30 lbs
• Applicant should be able to sit for long periods of time
• Applicant should be able to use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls and repeat the same movements
