The Graphic Design Intern works within the Marketing and Communications department to assist with the print and digital design needs of the Wexner Center for the Arts. Projects could include: advertisements, postcards, posters, fliers, event programs, videos, animations, and more.

In addition to departmental responsibilities, all Wexner Center interns participate in a center-wide internship cohort. To support this cohort, the Learning & Public Practice department offers professional development sessions and gatherings that interns are expected to attend throughout their internship. We welcome feedback on the internship program as a whole and seek to foster a collaborative and generative environment for all interns.
Responsibilities:
The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for a range of assignments that will vary based on need, volume of work, and current Wex programming. Projects will vary in scope, size, and skill level. The intern will work closely with their supervisor to refine projects until a high standard of design is achieved.
The intern will be expected to maintain constant communication with their supervisor, tackle tasks to the best of their availability, and ask for help when needed.

Candidates are expected to work 8–15 hours a week between the hours of 9am and 6pm in the Marketing/Communications offices (with work from home options available on an as-needed basis). The internship can start anywhere from May 2023–August 2023 and must continue through May 2024.
Candidates must submit a resume, cover letter, and graphic design portfolio. The portfolio can be emailed in PDF form to kmarkley@wexarts.org or provided as a website listed on the resume.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of core design principles and working knowledge of commonly used design programs in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with animation, video editing, and photography is a plus.
Term: This internship takes place over the academic year (Fall 2023 – Spring 2024), with the option of starting in Summer 2023. Position renewal possible.
Compensation: Pay range is $11 - $14/hr. Hourly rate will be determined by candidate experience. The Wex can also support course credit work through the candidate’s home academic unit in lieu of monetary compensation, if preferred.
