Duties and Functions:

• Assist in the collection of data as designated in study protocols.
• Ensure all practices are consistent with commonly accepted animal well-being standards, safe-guard the environment and ensure regulatory compliance
• Comply with Animal Care standards and adhere to principles contained within the Core Values and the Animal Care Stakeholder Commitment Statement
• Protect worker safety, abiding by safe work habits to ensure a safe environment, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Perform timely duties and comply with practices to protect the health of the animals, commonly referred to as bio-security practices.
• Drive biological pig performance by learning and executing all SOPs including, but not limited to:
• Individual pig care
• Animal handling

• Adhere to production practices on farm.
• Keep and maintain accurate production records.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

Experience
No previous experience required, prior agriculture experience is a plus
One year of animal care experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:

• No prior knowledge required for this position

Skill in:

• Attention to detail
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in an environment which includes:

• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Handle exposure to dust, odors, and noise
• Work in wet, slippery, and/or extremely hot or cold environments
• Learn new skills
• Lift, push, or pull 50 pounds
• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Stand/walk on concrete for extended periods of time
