Purpose:
The Field/Vibration Analyst role is responsible for completing Predictive Maintenance Services field projects and providing comprehensive reports of findings. This includes testing rotating equipment at the customer’s site using SKF monitoring equipment; utilizing skills as a Vibration Analyst; measuring the severity of equipment problems and reporting conditions to the customer; and performing IMT related repairs such as laser alignment, balancing, parts replacement/installation, and troubleshooting.

Major Responsibilities:

• Safely collect, analyze, and report on the general health of plant equipment, using vibration data collection

and analysis to determine root cause and make recommendations for correction

• Diagnose imbalance, misalignment and looseness, as well as structural resonances and bearing and gear faults
• Monitor Baseline Data Acquisition & Analysis Troubleshooting recurring problems with root cause analysis.
• Improve manufacturing equipment reliability and uptime at customer’s plants
• Oversee projects at customer’s sites from start to finish and write comprehensive reports documenting findings
• Diagnose and repair highly critical plant equipment with exceptional accuracy and speed to reduce downtime
• Accurately diagnosis equipment problems and convey findings with confidence and practical solutions
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships founded on trust, respect, and reliability
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently with little IBT supervision
• Assume management duties when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned and directed

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• 2-4 year degree required, or 10+ years’ field experience, or a combination of both
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to effectively and professionally prepare reports for customers after each project
• Must be highly motivated with strong work ethic
• Understanding of mechanical systems
• Must comply with all OSHA and safety regulations and company standards
• Ability to travel and work at job sites outside the KC area with expense report requirements
• Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google app skills required
• Must possess a customer first focus and attitude, and be able to work with individuals of all levels

Training Requirements and/or Learning Capacity:

• Formal training on vibration analysis (level 2 ISO category 3)
• Use of vibration analysis equipment and SKF diagnostic software
• Use of laser alignment equipment and alignment techniques
• Installation techniques for mechanical components
