Director of Accounting – Prime Pursuits

This role will work for PrimePursuits, a 44 Farms affiliate, which sources, procures, and finishes premium Black Angus cattle for the McClaren Farms branded beef sold in almost 500 Walmart stores in the Southeastern United States.
In this role you will be accountable for:

• Answering phones and routing calls to appropriate staff members in a courteous manner
• Respond to internal client and customer billing issues and questions in a timely manner via phone and email
• Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable mail including sorting, distributing and matching invoices
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and verifying proper approval on invoices
• Responsible for coding and entering invoices into QuickBooks in a timely and correct manner
• Daily check batch printing and payment processing in Quickbooks and Bank of America’s system
• Process immediate payments and mail payments to vendors and follow up by entering information into internal inventory management system
• Perform data entry of relevant accounting information into internal inventory management system
• Work with inventory manager to ensure inventory is reconciled in internal inventory management system to be able to close out monthly financials
• Void checks and provide copies/backup for appropriate files
• Process and monitor incoming payments and ensuring all are properly and posted to systems timely
• Update and maintain vendor database, request/scan W-9 forms for new vendors
• Demonstrating customer focus and teamwork, working across the organization to solve issues
• Protecting organization’s value by keeping information confidential
• Document management: filing, retrieval, and archiving in an organized manner
• Assists Controller as needed in preparation of financial statements and other projects as needed

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Associate’s in Accounting with 2 + years experience
• Cattle industry background is strongly preferred with 2+ years AP/AR experience
• QuickBooks proficiency requiredAttention to detail and organizational skillsStrong multi-tasker and problem-solving skills
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Office programs such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
