CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Job Purpose

The customer service representative will work cooperatively with our customer base and manufacturing team to provide outstanding customer service and installation information on our products.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide product and technical information in a timely manner to all customer (new and existing) inquiries - send samples and brochures to customers.

• Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.

• Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profiles.

• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, freight quotes, freight claims or returns.

• Provide accurate information regarding availability of products.

• Recommend alternate products based on cost and/or availability.

• Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.

Provide updated shipment information to customer.

• Fill all requests for catalogs, samples and specifications.

• Setup and maintain customer files including price lists.

• Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.

• Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software.

• Basic technical knowledge of the products, installation, maintenance, etc.

• Reports any customer concerns to sales manager.

• Follow company policies and procedures.

• Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors.

• Answer all incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate employee.
• Take messages for staff during lunch hour.
• Support sales in obtaining freight quotes for customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma

• Entry level position, experience preferred

• Ability to handle a high volume of incoming phone calls with professionalism and courtesy especially when the same is not returned by the caller

• Ability to effectively use computer software and technology as required by the company including Microsoft Word and Excel

• Effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills a must

• Ability to travel to visit customers or attend trade shows

• Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with customers, management and co-workers.

• Must be able to multi-task effectively

Requirements:

• This position will report for 8 hours daily Mon-Fri

• Hours are 8am to 5 pm EST (Lunch 1 hour)

• This position reports to the Customer Service Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
