Summary:
Corresponds with customers and records orders into computer or transfers new designs to the Engineering Department for Customer Service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Handles incoming calls and faxes from customers and reps for new order processing, change orders, expediting, quotations, sample orders, literature requests and cross competitor part numbers.
· Interface with production control, engineering and shipping regarding customer orders or potential orders.
· Initiates customer and re follow-up concerning quotations, samples, new orders, re-orders and leads.
· Assists accounting in collecting past due invoices when necessary.
· Responsible for qualifying and approving/rejecting debit memos for their production.
· Researches and issues RMA numbers. Obtain and enters replacement orders and determines disposition of return parts.
· Interfaces with engineering, shipping or production control where necessary.
· Copies data and compiles records and reports.
· Filing customer orders and other documents in the customer service department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations.
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Educations and Experience:
· High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); three to six or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
