POSITION SCOPE AND PURPOSE: Construction internship as a part of our Facility Maintenance department. This is an entry level internship that will focus on developing skillsets as it pertains to building sustain projects, proper processes when cleaning roof top coils, and proper use of construction tools required for building and maintaining structures.

This internship will start in the summer of 2023 and last approximately 12 weeks. At the end of this 12-week internship candidates will obtain a wide variety of skills that will assist them in the construction industry. As a medical manufacturer each intern will also be introduced to processes used by SMC Ltd. and how construction functions operate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Strong team player.
• Tour ready appearance all hours, every day.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Ability to work for extended periods standing and looking at blueprints while completing repetitive motions to include substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; reviewing detailed information; and expansive reading.

EQUIPMENT USED: Contruction tools, machines, and ladders.
