Job Description
4D Tech Solutions, a Cognosante company, is seeking a Software Engineer with 5+ years' experience in software, computer engineering, or related disciplines, to participate on a multidisciplinary product development team. 4D is seeking individuals interested in the design, development and commercialization of unmanned vehicle systems and LiDAR sensor systems for unmanned vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of skills and experience including graphical user interface development, embedded software development, system test and evaluation, and technical writing and project reporting. Interested candidates must be able to adapt to the current projects needs and must be able to fill multiple engineering roles.
Key Responsibilities

• Embedded software development, system integration, and test and evaluation
• Development of graphical user interfaces for unmanned vehicles and LiDAR sensor systems.
• Troubleshooting and debugging of existing software
• Software development project planning and estimation
• Creation of software design descriptions (SDD)

Required Qualifications

• US Citizen able to obtain and hold a Secret DoD Clearance
• B.S. or higher in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a similar degree.
• 5+ years experience in software, design/development, computer engineering, or related disciplines such as robotics or research & development
• Proficient in C and/or C++ programming language.
• Experience with embedded Linux development (Petalinux/Raspberry Pi, etc.)
• Proficient in electronics design and EDA software such as KiCad, Circuit Studio, Eagle, or others.

Candidates that do not meet the required qualifications will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or another scripting language.
• Experience developing graphical user interfaces (control stations for unmanned systems).
• Familiar with optics, lasers, and LADAR systems.
• Experience with Xilinx Zynq architecture.
• Familiar with Qt or another cross-platform user-interface toolkit.
• Experience in operating unmanned systems (FAA Part 107 certification a plus).
• Familiar with mechanical design and applicable software (i.e. OnShape)
