Comprehensive Urologic Care (CUC) has been treating patients in Chicago’s Northwest suburbs and surrounding area for over 25 years. While remaining an independent, private practice, CUC is affiliated with the Advocate and AMITA hospital systems in the area: Advocate Aurora Good Shepherd Hospital,Advocate Aurora Sherman Hospital, and AMITA St. Alexius Medical Center. Advanced Practice Providers (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners) are responsible for working independently and collaboratively with other medical professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Must possess the ability to assess clinical problems, determine priorities of care, design and implement a treatment plan, and seek and utilize consultation appropriately. All activity will be performed as a part of the physician team and under direct or indirect supervision.

Essential requirements:

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• The ability to project a pleasant and professional image while managing multiple priorities

• The ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in interacting with others

• Consult with patients to determine their complaints and symptoms, discern their overall condition, and learn their medical history.

• Order tests and procedures as indicated by the diagnosis in a cost-effective manner.

• Follow up with results of patient labs, CT Scans, X-rays, and other investigations.

• Utilize sound judgment in the establishment of priorities in patient care management along with the clinical team.

• Consult appropriately with supervising physician regarding proposed treatment.

• Discharge Planning in conjunction with supervising physician.

• Refer patients for after-care/follow-up with appropriate providers.

• Identify patients’ educational needs and intervene appropriately to meet those needs.

• Assist with specific medical program and clinical operations; counsel patients regarding their health; prepare reports and summaries.

• Provide medical/ surgical services pursuant to the terms outlined in State of Illinois supervisory agreement between the physician and non-physician provider.

• Determine appropriate treatment methods; discuss the potential benefits and risks with patients.

• Accurately document patient data, actions or interventions, responses, & plans for care/follow-up according to guidelines &/or standard practice.

• Assist in providing evening and/or weekend call coverage as required. If unable to fulfill this required coverage, arrange with other CUC Advanced Practice Providers for coverage.

• Perform health assessments and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.

• Participate in practice operational and clinical planning meetings as needed.

• Mange specialty disease state clinics as assigned

Other Requirements Include:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited PA or NP training program or in another health sciences related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

• Current and continuous certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), or similar certification board
• State of Illinois Medical License
• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to travel locally among CUC locations (Lake Barrington, Crystal Lake, Elgin, and Hoffman Estates)

Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
