The Role:

The Accountant I reports to the Corporate FP&A Senior Manager and is responsible for assisting with the day to day functions of the finance department.

What You'll Do:

• Account for transactions under US GAAP and in accordance with company accounting policies
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries, including payroll and month end accrual entries
• Perform daily accounting functions related to AR, AP, Payroll, Inventory and credit card purchases.
• Process intercompany transactions and support the accounting process of related entties
• Achieve completion of weekly processes timely and in adherence to close calendar
• Partner with FP&A to prepare performance and job cost analysis to be reviewed with management.
• Perform analysis and provide insight into account balance details and drivers of change
• Maintain accurate and consistent chart of accounts
• Maintains accurate vendor files by verifying federal id numbers, certificate of insurance, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
• Maintains accurate customer files by verifying customer and job details, and posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions

• Support external audit by providing timely and accurate support schedules as requested
• Cultivate strong partnerships with Operations, Technology, and other functions
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and tasks as requested
• Handle special projects related to technology, systems, automation, or new initiatives
• Develops and manages Standard Operating Procedure documents and cross trains accounting resources
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

What You'll Need:

• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Disciplined accuracy and attention to detail
• Must be highly organized, proactive and possess the analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
• Microsoft Excel Proficient, experience with accounting software may be required
• The willingness and ability to comply with local, state, and federal financial regulations, as well as the regulations established by the company.
