Orla is operating the Camino Rojo Oxide Gold Mine, a gold and silver open-pit and heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas State, Central Mexico and the Cerro Quema and Caballito projects located in Panama.

We recently acquired Gold Standard Ventures and their South Railroad Project, a feasibility-stage, open pit, heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin trend in Nevada. The closing of this acquisition marks an important milestone in Orla’s journey to becoming a growth-oriented, low-cost, mid-tier gold producer.

The purpose of this role is to prepare local accounting and tax records to facilitate useful spending and budgeting information for the local management team and public reporting information for the corporate finance team. This role will report directly to our site General Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare month-end calculations and journal entries.
• Prepare bank and other account reconciliations.
• Prepare internal reports and assist management with the analysis of the data.
• Prepare monthly cash reports and cash call requests for approval by the local GM
• Support in the annual budgeting process
• Prepare supporting schedules for quarter-end public consolidated financial statements.
• Administer the payroll process
• Assist with conducting accounting research on new or non-recurring transactions.
• Assist with preparing and filing periodic government filings.
• Assist with developing new reports and automating certain month-end procedures.
• Assist with intercompany billings and reconciliations.
• Assist with preparing and sharing evidence with internal and external auditors.
• Execute the accounts payable function, and once an accounts payable clerk is hired, then support the accounts payable clerk as necessary.
• Review coding, taxes, currencies, and completeness of receipts for employee expense reports.
• Review accounting procedures and recommend improvements where needed.
• Update period-end process narratives and flowcharts.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in business or accounting.
• At least 2 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
• Experience working in the mining industry preferred.
• Knowledge of US Income Tax law.
• Strong computer skills – intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office, Project, and Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail is crucial to this role.
• High level of critical, strategic, and logical thinking.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
