General Description of the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager as part of our expanding team, who will help manage our current warehouse in Mullins,SC (130.000 sq feet, 36 people) together with our current established leadership structure, and then oversee the renovation, onboarding and efficient operation of our new warehouse in Marion, SC (500.000 sq feet) which will house Maxwood operations as well as provide 3rd party fulfilment services. This building will undergo extensive renovations. Management of this renovation project while learning existing warehouse operations is part of the position. Building maintenance and upkeep will be part of the job responsibility.
You must be able to effectively lead a large and growing team of both warehouse and office staff. Hands-on Leadership and quick decision-making qualities are a must. Former work history must be stable with excellent references. This is NOT a desk job, this is a show by example career path. This is a career for someone that thrives working physically with a mind for attention to detail and the ability to motivate a team. We work through systems to manage information flows so familiarity with using computers and systems to manage a complex operation is essential. We are a technology focused company and always look for ways to improve our systems and processes.
Proactive, frequent, and seamless communication with the Mullins team and collaboration with the Operations Team at headquarters (located in Mt Pleasant, SC) is a must. Independent decision making is expected, but teamwork is everything. The position requires a very organized and systematic person with a “can do” attitude who gets the job done today and not tomorrow. Inventory must be accurate at all times; orders must be shipped on time and in full.
Required Skills:
· 10+ years of people leadership/management experience
· Strong time management skills for time sensitive shipments. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements. Must be able to shift priorities easily.
· 5+ years’ experience with electronic warehouse management systems including bar codes and scanners and computerized scanning equipment
· 5+ years’ experience with receiving and shipping of containers/LTL shipments and UPS/FedEx Ground shipments
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office– particularly Excel
· Flexibility with scheduling- Must be willing to work late and/or weekends when needed based on volume of orders and during peak seasons.
· Ability to utilize IT systems to analyze and interpret reports to make informed decisions regarding order prioritization.
· Fluent in English
· Supervise and coordinate the annual physical inventory counting and recording. Along with cycle counts through the year.
· Operate within a budget and routinely analyze and control expenditures to meet budget requirements.
· Familiarization with warehouse machinery such as forklifts, scissor lifts, walkie riders, etc
· Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and communication.
· Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods
· Forklift certification
· Must be willing to work shoulder to shoulder with your Team, building and maintaining mutual respect at all times
· Valid drivers’ license
