Summary: The Software Manager will plan, execute, and direct all activities related to the development and management of software applications, with a strong focus on ERP systems including training and emplimentation. Duties will also include managing Application Administrators, overseeing implementation and integration of new software, management of existing applications, and process documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Implementation of Microsoft Dynamics ERP, including planning, process mapping, training, configuration, data conversion, UAT, etc.
  • Consult with business units to gather requirements.
  • Evaluating software solutions and system performance, as well as supervising the Application Administrators for CRM, CAD, and ERP.
  • Managing the deployment, installation, configuration, and integration of software solutions.
  • Collaborating with front-end users on software functionality.
  • Resolving software deployment and integration errors, and documenting processes.
  • Performing routine maintenance and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Responsible for the implementation of new ERP functionality for major functions within the business
  • Understanding of department processes and functions
  • Oversee discovery workshops, requirements gathering, and documentation, and development of conceptual design and architecture of Dynamics and integrations
  • Develop and support the ongoing roadmap of additional functions to be implemented.
  • Transform business requirements into a straightforward and technical model, and match processes to application requirements
  • Ensure you fully understand business nuance and support that through clear technical directions
  • Understand how to link functional and non-functional requirements and shepherd streamlining opportunities to ensure supportable, scalable platforms with customization only where business value is derived.
  • Analyze and design solutions for applications, and handle gaps detected during prototyping
  • Design and lead technical team(s) to make sure that Columbia Machine, Inc. needs are incorporated into the specifications and functions
  • Document settings and prepare users to use the system, including training and documentation support and partnership with trainers
  • Continuous improvement, understanding of typical department processes and functions
  • Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression to work effectively with users, managers, and data suppliers
  • May travel (domestic and internationally) up to 15% as business needs requires.

Contributes to team effort by being willing to attempt new assignments or fill in for others as needed; accomplishes other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Functional knowledge of ERP and ancillary systems, and reporting tools
  • Strong knowledge of business processes, project management skills, and extensive experience designing and managing ERP systems
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to plan and manage projects with budgets of varying sizes and scope
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to communicate both internally and externally on a technical and non-technical matters
  • Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple ongoing assignments
  • Able to work productively with others to ensure the successful completion of assignments
  • Ability to effectively solve problems with excellent analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects across technical and functional disciplines

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, or similar.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in software development and team management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience ERP Implementation experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions.
  • Ability to mentor software developers, as well as to collaborate with all stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
