JOB TITLE Project Manager LOCATION Sitka, Alaska

REPORTS TO Executive Management Team DEPARTMENT Allen Marine, Inc.

STATUS Salary DIRECT REPORTS Yes

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an energetic, experienced individual to manage projects for the Sitka, Alaska Shipyard facility, owned and operated by Allen Marine, Inc. This position requires planning, organizing, management of tasks, budgeting, controlling costs and other factors that may arise. This position will work with existing management from multiple divisions to ensure smooth and timely execution of projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination of individuals and teams from cross disciplines to achieve project deliverables and/or project completion.
  • Manage individual vessel and facility maintenance and repair records, including vessel movements between ports, budgets, parts purchasing, tool inventory and timelines for work to be completed.
  • Anticipate and plan for long- and short-term improvements and maintenance.
  • Facilitate and manage progress meetings and ensure detailed documentation of subjects covered.
  • Generate work orders and manage labor and inventory in Pacsoft.
  • Assist with the coordination and/or facilitate outside customer requested services.
  • Control costs by regularly monitoring vessel and facility budgets.
  • Communicate any “closed” projects for reconciliation with accounting department.
  • Coordinate with shop foreman and facility manager to help monitor daily operations.
  • Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facilities and/or vessels.
  • Assist with talent recruitment and new hire onboarding as well as timekeeping and PTO requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

  • A bachelor’s degree or master's degree in a related field plus three years proven experience in marine or construction project management. Substitution - ten years proven experience in marine or construction project management
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills with ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Proven ability to lead project teams from various departments and coordinating with cross- discipline team members to ensure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and project management software programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, within the company and externally with customers and vendors.
  • Ability to interpret and follow company rules, policies, and procedures as well as State and

Federal regulations

  • Ability to maintain composure with courteous and professional demeanor in stressful situations.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and able to effectively interact with team members, customers and vendors.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and proactively seek information to increase knowledge base.
  • Must pass a security background check.

DESIRED QUALITIES

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Pacsoft, ADP and budgeting software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Position is a full-time position. Expect occasional overtime. Position works in an office setting.
  • Occasional travel across ports may be required.
  • Must have ability to walk on uneven deck surfaces.
