Job Summary:

Reporting to the Associate Director, CRM & Systems Administration, the Marketing Cloud Administrator is a critical member of the Operations team and will manage the day-to-day operations of NEA’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance. This individual will have a deep understanding of the capabilities and functionality of Salesforce Marketing Cloud to lead the development of new initiatives, enhancements, operations and support for the platform and its various integrations. This individual will work with internal stakeholders on requirements for initiatives and lead in their execution and delivery with guidance from the Associate Director, CRM & Systems Administration. This individual will also respond to regular requests for reports, dashboards, and error resolution.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week). This is a hybrid remote position and will require occasional time in our Novato, CA office.

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary contact for Marketing Cloud

Collaborate closely with the Salesforce System Administrator, Marketing Department and other stakeholders

Maintain security, including sharing rules and security levels to Marketing Cloud, and Marketing related Objects

Lead development and maintenance of Journeys in Marketing Cloud based on organizational needs

Build Outbound email communications based on organizational needs

Lead the implementation of new releases of Marketing Cloud.

Research and share new features, make recommendations on new features, and understand how they impact our organization to ensure we are taking full advantage of offerings

Participate in new project discovery, configuration design, testing, and deployment. Have a strong understanding of business requirements, and make recommendations for solutions

Perform administration and support of Marketing Cloud and related Objects including but not limited to creating/managing business units, security settings including custom roles and permissions, automation, data imports and synchronization, data extensions, preference center management and audit trail monitoring

Assist in training, troubleshooting, and support with end users in Marketing Cloud

Assist users with dynamic content using AMPScript.

Maintain and enhance data extensions using SQL activities in automation studio

Email Studio

  • Build and manage data extensions
  • Manage and organize content
  • Building emails via HTML/CSS (MJML)

Data and Analysis

  • Build reports and manage data extensions in Marketing Cloud that provide real-time insight into operations and outcomes
  • Report on every outbound communication and report to relevant parties as needed

Manage Mobile Push/Mobile Connect

Contact Builder

  • Manage/upkeep contact list clean and organized

Occasionally Support Sr Salesforce Administrator with creating custom fields, custom objects, and flows in SFDC

Must Have Skills:

Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator

Certified Salesforce Administrator (CRM)

At least 3 years of managing and Administering Marketing Cloud

Intermediate to expert level technical understanding of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform including email, email templates, SMS, automations, journeys, data extensions, preference center, business units, forms, and integrations

A firm understanding of Marketing Cloud best practices

Intermediate to expert with SQL query (in relation to SFMC)

Intermediate with HTML/CSS

Experience with Marketing Cloud Reporting Tools

Experience with Journey Builder, Automation studio, Web studio, Email studio and Audience Builder

Detail-orientation with strong organizational, research, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently in an evolving and changing environment with little direction and multi-task while being productive and timely

Flexible and willing to participate in activities outside core job description

Preferred but not required:

Experience in implementing and managing a Marketing Cloud instance

Marketing Cloud Email Specialist experience

Experience supporting the development of marketing and/or fundraising campaigns and leveraging the CRM system for these activities

Visual Studio Code/MJML experience a plus

Knowledge of email marketing and text messaging best practices

Experience with AMPScript

Experience using Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence for project management
