As a Registered Nurse on the Oncology Unit you will be part of the Sarah Canon Institute. Where we have leading pathways and research in cancer care. You will be joining a team of professionals who will treat you like family and who are dedicated to delivering excellent care to cancer patients. You will be on a dynamic in-patient cancer unit that provides care for patient with blood cancer, solid tumors, head/neck surgeries and hematology disorders. You will enable patients to reach their goals through care specifically designed to cater to individual patient needs and work with highly skilled and trained providers from Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Blue Mountain Cancer Care Center, and Rocky Mountain GYN Oncology. We are growing our cancer program at Swedish Medical Center to include a new cancer pavilion and a new 30 bed in-patient unit. This growth will support a new blood cancer program and volume growth of the existing lung cancer program, pancreatic cancer program and head/neck surgeries.

What you will do in this role you have the opportunity to provide the following services:

  • Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy administration
  • Transfusions of blood, platelets and fresh frozen plasma
  • Post radiation care
  • Post-operative care for head and neck surgical patients
  • Central line management
  • Pain management
  • Telemetry monitoring

What job qualifications you will need for this role:

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Chemotherapy Certification preferred or obtained within 4 months of hire (bonus available upon completion)
  • Acute care experience preferred
