Reports To: Operations Manager

Direct Reports: None

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Employment: Full Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary

The Project Manager will oversee projects within an assigned geographic region and be the primary point of contact between Systec and the customer after the sale through a successful installation. The PM will monitor the progress of a project through engineering and manufacturing to ensure that milestones are met and keep the project on time.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Ensure customer relations are maintained to the highest level possible.
  • Ensure projects designated for oversight are well managed.
  • Coordinate Pre-Installation Visit with the customer and Territory Sales Manager for all projects designated as requiring project management.
  • Work with the customer to prepare the installation plan
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing to ensure proper timing of delivery of equipment to facilitate the desired installation schedule.
  • Ensure customer is in agreement with the scope of work to be performed.
  • Collect any customer specific safety standards and visitor’s rules, in order to relate to the rest of the onsite installation and/or service team members.
  • Ensure all of the onsite installation and/or service team members are advised of project scope and time line of work to be performed.
  • Review all details of the project with the team members, and understand the game plan for effectively performing in front of the customer.
  • Highlight any potential areas that could be problematic or any areas that the customer has requested for special focus.
  • Upon project completion, obtain customer sign-off indicating acceptance of work performed and completed
  • Ensure all redlines and other documented field modifications are collected and drawings updated as needed

Additional:

  • Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with company mission, values and financial objectives
  • Assist in design and development of new products and tools
  • Maintain professional business relationships with customers
  • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects to management team

Authorities Granted

· Arrange and purchase own travel arrangements (flights, hotels, rental cars) using company provided charge card

· Access to company CRM, Manufacturing Schedule, Project and Quote Log and Plant Layouts, quotation and project documentation.

· Recommend changes to policies and procedures

· Communicate directly with Maintenance Personagers and Plant Managers on the companies behalf

· Initiate Change Order, (CO), Warranty Adjustments (WA), Manufacturing Adjustments (MA) and Return Goods Adjustments (RA) as needed to meet the customer’s requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering field or demonstrated relevant work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar software
  • Ability to read/understand architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems
  • Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Available for travel 40-50%
  • Customer Service or Sales Support experience
  • Experience with MS Project, or other project management programs
  • Attention to detail for drawing and quotation accuracy and completion of work
