KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in supervising therapy personnel and oversees treatment and customer/resident relations for all rehab programs.
  • Assists and coordinates with Director of Rehab daily scheduling for treatments for all clinical programs
  • Provides direct care and works with supervisor to determine appropriate caseload in tandem with other responsibilities.
  • Assures the rehab needs of the residents and families are met.
  • Assists DOR in monitoring to ensure all clinical documentation is complete, timely, and accurately reflects the services provided.
  • Meets and exceeds the productivity standards as established with supervisor and the Director of Rehab Services
  • Ensures that the services delivered are of the highest quality and meets all standards of practice.
  • Implements new clinical and operational programs within the department as coordinated with DOR.
  • Monitors treatment programs for outcomes and adjusts plans of care in accordance.
  • Assures the therapists follow the established policies and procedures of the facility and the company.

Job Description:

The primary role of the Occupational Therapist is to direct all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation, treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education and documentation according to organization’s guidelines, professional standards and community needs. This position will also serve as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current prospective patients, to all internal and external customers while participating in quality assurance and customer service activities.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an approved curriculum in Occupational Therapy, is able to practice unencumbered, is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards, has working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources, full knowledge of residents’ rights, exude professionalism in presentation, able to work on multitasks at the same time. In addition, qualified candidates must have proven success in providing extraordinary care, working as a proactive and contributing part of a dynamic team. Customer service expertise is crucial to ensure patient care is performed with kindness, competence, and compassion.
