JOB DESCRIPTION: Advanced Practice Provider

REPORTS TO: APP Physician Liaison

DEFINITION OF POSITION:
We are looking for an experienced APP to diagnose and treat acute and chronic GI health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. You will see patients in both clinic and the inpatient care setting. Duties includes conducting physical examinations, initiating work up and treatment, interpreting lab tests, and overseeing patients’ plan of care. You will be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives. Experience in one of the following subspecialties preferred: Acute care, cardiology, family health, women’s health or urgent care, preference for experience in gastroenterology. As an APP, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals, a team spirit, positive attitude, and strong work ethic is required. Patience, critical thinking, and good communication are a must. Responsibilities

  • Examine patients and their medical records
  • Diagnostic testing and interpretation (blood testing, imaging, advanced imaging, etc.)
  • Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
  • Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases
  • Prescribe medications
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules
  • Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
  • Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics, and prevention
  • Oversee patients’ overall health
  • Promote good health practices
  • Advance professional knowledge and conduct research

Skills

  • Proven experience as APP in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
  • Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Team spirit with a positive attitude
  • Critical Thinking
  • Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
  • Valid, unencumbered licensure in the state of Idaho
  • Master’s degree, PhD is a plus
  • Experience in EPIC eMR a plus
