Columbia Post Acute is hiring a van driver to transport residents to/from hospitals, doctor's appointments and other assigned duties to accommodate patient's needs during their stay with us.

Description:

We are seeking a dependable van driver with Class E license. They must have excellent customer service skills. This person must have outstanding communication skills and time management to ensure patients are on time to appointments. You will also assist in the loading and unloading of patients and assistance into the building. Clean driving record a must.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle
  • Pick-up residents at various locations and organize getting them to the desired location in an ordered, logical manner
  • Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent injury
  • Safely and efficiently handle getting patients in/out of van.
  • Good sense of direction and/or access to GPS device
  • Have a strong base knowledge regarding our facility.
  • Interact with local customers, answer questions regarding pick up and drop off times.
  • Communicate schedule conflicts and delays with facility, residents and outside location
  • Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
  • Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
  • Track and report working hours
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
  • Make safety a priority at all times

Local Delivery Truck Driver Requirements and Qualifications * High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred

  • Valid driver’s license, required

  • Experience driving a large company van or truck preferred
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations
  • Must pass background check
  • Skilled and confident driver
  • Comfortable maneuvering and parking a large vehicle
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Experience using hand trucks and electric lifts
  • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
  • An innate sense of direction
  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong verbal communicator
