JOB DESCRIPTION
The Medical Receptionist position answers the phone, schedules and greets clients and acts as a support person to a program or group of programs. Primary responsibilities are typically; greeting clients by phone and in the clinic, assisting with client appointments, establishing client financial eligibility, verifying insurance, preparation of insurance, Medicaid and Medicare billing and communicating with third party billing services, assisting senior programmatic staff in day-to-day operations; assisting in grant compliance. . Position assists in Medicaid and Medicare billing. Other reception duties include making sure that waiting rooms are in good condition, providing the public general information, taking/delivering messages and providing support to clinical and programmatic staff.

3. Ability to complete documentation in a legible and professional manner.
4. Must be self-directive.
5. Collaboration Skills.
6.Needs to be familiar with Medicare, Medicaid and insurance verification procedures

Answers incoming calls
Scheduling client appointments and assists staff with scheduling/coordination.
Establish client financial eligibility through income
Inputs data and documentation into EMR system correctly and in a timely manner.
Maintains effective filing system and files necessary information in a timely manner.
Relieves other clerical staff as needed
Update financial eligibility as needed
Assists direct care staff in scheduling clients and coordinating services
Maintains effective filing system and files necessary information in a timely manner
Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls
Communicate with third party billing services, providing documentation as needed
Update financial eligibility as needed
Verify insurance, Medicaid or Medicare coverage
Inventories supplies and maintain inventories, completing purchase requests as needed
Provides support services to clinical personnel for insurance, Medicaid and Medicare billing.
Checks clients in and out of clinic.
Schedules appointments for staff.
Collects payments from clients as due
Records client sensitive information by approved method
Adheres to all agency policies
Other duties as assigned.
