AB Consulting GSS Inc. is a supplier of experienced engineering talent to manufacturing companies. A major industrial client is modernizing its existing facility in Lawton, OK.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The person in this role will be responsible for completing the mechanical design of various manufacturing projects. The person will also follow the manufacturing, supervise installation resources, and adjust the new equipment for production startup. This support is needed to start immediately and currently does not have a defined end date. The position will be reassessed on a regular basis based on the investment plan and loading on the engineering team.

Work Schedule:

Normal work hours 40 hrs/ week, Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day; however, shifts in schedules can be made to provide coverage for project installations and startups requiring weekend or holiday coverage.

Overtime work may be approved as needed but will not be typical. Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays. Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide Mechanical Engineering design for assigned projects including assembly drawing, detail drawing, 2D (DraftSight) or 3D (Solid Works) and bill of material.

2. Research and propose commercial component when needed.

3. Manage BOM and archiving within TeamCenter.

4. Respect the client's mechanical design standards in all equipment designs.

5. Create Budgetary Estimates and Request for Quote Packages on assigned projects.

6. Facilitate the order of equipment and materials for assigned projects.

7. Provide equipment acceptance inspections on equipment that comes into the plant

8. Provide Management of mechanical contractor or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through startup and commissioning.

9. Adjust and debug the machine.

10. Interface with Plant production & maintenance customers, other engineers, and suppliers to complete equipment acceptance criteria.

Specific mechanical engineering skills required:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

2. Preferred 3 to 5 years of Engineering Experience in designing and commissioning machinery.

3. Experienced with mechanical design standards and able to complete mechanical systems designs using standard 3D CAD design tools, SolidWorks preferred, DraftSight is also a plus.

4. Experience with Dossier document management systems required, TeamCenter is preferred.

5. Managing correction of equipment non-conformities and acceptance.

Other:

Good communications skills are a must.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour
