This is an onsite position in the Central IL area.

What we are looking for:

The Information Technology (IT) Specialist 1 provides maintenance of the computer desktop environment and supports the internal information technology Helpdesk in accordance with Heartland Health Services’ (HHS) mission and strategic goals, federal and state laws and regulations, performance and outcome objectives, and accreditation standards.

Essential Functions

  • Provides Helpdesk support and resolves problems to the end user’s satisfaction.
  • Monitors and responds quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT Helpdesk phone and ticketing software.
  • Monitors Helpdesk for tickets assigned to the queue and processes “first-in first-out” based on priority and criticality.
  • Escalates to IT Specialists 2/3 when appropriate.
  • Utilizes and maintains Helpdesk tracking software.
  • Follows and documents internal procedures.
  • Assists with training new employees.
  • Will be required to be on a rotating on-call basis throughout the calendar year.
  • Ensures each workstation has standard and, when appropriate, specialized equipment.
  • Installs, tests, and configures workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
  • Maintains inventory of all IT equipment, software, and software licenses.
  • Reports issues to the Helpdesk for prioritization.
  • Manages computer setup and deployment using standardized hardware, images, and software.
  • Assigns users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory.
  • Performs timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Two years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience in SharePoint administration preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate within and across departments.
  • Ability to travel to all locations and to meetings outside the service area; flexible hours are required.
