Job Title: HR Generalist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assures compliance with all federal and state labor and employment laws.
  • Keeps handbook and company policies up to date and ensures company-wide adoption of these items.
  • Executes the talent acquisition process, with a heavy focus on recruitment for production roles: maintaining accurate postings of open positions, pre-screening candidates, setting up interviews, orientation, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Collaborates with the Production Manager to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts training, including orientation, safety, quality, anti-harassment, etc.
  • Oversees Health and Safety plans to assure compliance federal laws.
  • Manage workers’ compensation activities including reporting, return-to-work program, including support of all safety activities.
  • Works with temporary agencies to assist with filling open roles. Submits temporary employee’s weekly hours for accurate payment
  • Accurately maintains HRIS system with employee details, processes changes for accurate record keeping.
  • Completes weekly payroll processing and transmits files to third party processor for completion.
  • Process payroll related documents such as garnishments and child support withholdings.
  • Answers inquiries from agencies. Completes unemployment documents
  • Conducts company-wide surveys as needed, such as benefit and engagement surveys.
  • Develops and fosters community relationships.
  • Processes company documentation to include FMLA papers and tracking, STD/LTD paperwork, and case management, EEO, WC, ADA filing and reporting, absence reports, time and attendance matters, child support materials, benefits administration/invoicing needs, unemployment requests, etc.
  • Enrolls and assists employees with company benefits, including paperwork completion for Insurance and 401K.
  • Supports resolution of complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assists other departments such as Accounting with invoicing, coding, and processing of invoices related to staffing, training, benefits, etc.
  • General office duties as required such as answering telephones, greeting visitors, processing mail, and providing clerical support as needed.
  • Regular attendance and other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in Human Resources in a manufacturing setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, with occasional loud noises when in the manufacturing facility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
