Supervisor: Human Resources Director
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resources processes at all business locations. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-relates problems and ensure effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resources Coordinator ensures certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resources function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Completed Form I9, verifies documentation, and maintains I9 files
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks
  • Reconciles benefits statements
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommend corrective action
  • Assists with processing of terminations
  • Assists with preparation of the performance review process
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters and phone calls at the end of the recruitment process
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the HR Director
  • Makes photocopies; mail, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions
  • Files documents into appropriate personnel files
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as needed
  • Prepared new-hire files
  • Processes mail
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
SCOPE
The scope of this position is often exposed to all human resources procedures and assists with tasks throughout all areas of the HR department. In addition to recruiting and placing new employees, an HR Coordinator assists with guiding employees through various human resource processes, answering any questions they may have about policies, assist with administering benefits, processing payroll, and handling any problems or questions. The position also has an active role in ensuring all human resource functions are complying with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at tine stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • SHRM-CP credential preferred
  • At least two (2) years related experience required
