Job Summary :The Human Resource Manager – Supply Chain oversees and leads Human Resource practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented; high performing culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce within the warehouse environment. The Human Resources manager is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization’s business goals.

Job Description :The Human Resource Manager – Supply Chain oversees and leads Human Resource practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented; high performing culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce within the warehouse environment. The Human Resources manager is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization’s business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Physical On-site role – 1st shift - This is NOT a work from home position
  • Coordinates the implementation of employee related services, policies and programs through the Distribution Human Resources staff; and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with Corporate legal department as needed/required.
  • Familiarity with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding employee welfare, safety, health and benefits, compensation.
  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Writes and delivers presentations to upper management regarding human resources policies and practices.
  • Monitors performance management programs.
  • Assist with the development of policies and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse work force for the organization.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs

  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Conducts scheduled meetings with respective business units.
  • Consults with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Innate interest in and desire for continuous learning and personal development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Scope

  • Supervisory Responsibility – Direct: Exempt and Non-Exempt Employees
  • Travel - up to 5%
  • Equipment Used – computer, printer, copier, fax

Requirements :Job Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of the resolution of complex employee relation issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft – Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and comfortable with Enterprise resource platforms (Ultipro, Kronos, SAP, etc)
  • Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Manage multiple business units in multiple locations, if needed.
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels and all shifts.
  • Be self- directed and motivated.
  • Take initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.

Physical Requirements
General office environment requiring ability to:

  • stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
  • speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
  • use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Team lift items over 50 lbs. as needed.
