West Florida Area Health Education Center, a non-profit agency located in Crestview, FL, seeks a FT professional for immediate hire to be our Healthy Aging Education Coordinator. The successful candidate will have the ability to implement and deliver evidence-based (EB) health curricula and various other health education programs for senior-aged and medically underserved populations. Program delivery may be virtual or in-person depending upon COVID restrictions.

Job Description: Candidate will work frequently and closely with aging health clientele and should be willing to gain extensive training and certification for multiple EB programs. Characteristics which are best suited for this position include patience and empathy, tact and professionalism, sensitivity to the needs of the client base, the ability to get along with many personality types, and an overall positive disposition. Maintaining accurate documentation and paperwork is critical, so being highly detail-oriented and organized is a major priority. An in-depth understanding of program fidelity and requirements is necessary. The candidate must have the skillset to teach programs including those which have a physical component, such as Tai Chi for Arthritis. Candidate should be familiar with using Zoom and be able to remotely troubleshoot issues as they occur. Frequent travel among the four counties we serve is expected, although some remote work may be permitted when appropriate.

Duties include program planning and facilitating, budget and team management, marketing and recruiting, and submitting frequent reports to account for fidelity and program efficacy. Additionally, the Healthy Aging Education Coordinator will seek strategic partnerships and maintain frequent correspondence in collaboration with local health agencies.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field with 2-5 years of relevant experience is required. Candidates must possess and be prepared to demonstrate proficient oral, written, organizational, presentational, and physical competencies. Time management skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently are imperative. Knowledge and experience in health education is preferred. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom is essential, and experience developing and managing a budget is also preferred.

Additional Requirements:

● Frequent local travel and some regional and statewide travel as deemed appropriate according to COVID-19 guidelines

● Level 2 background check and sealed certified copy of official college transcripts required (not copies)
