Position Overview:
The Imbedded Systems Engineer will be based out of the customers facility in Knoxville, TN and will be responsible for meeting the daily service maintenance and repair needs of the customer’s equipment as well as participate in working on small engineer projects of various degrees.
Primary Duties:
· Basic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on designated equipment.
· Completing Preventive Maintenance and field modifications.
· Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
· Maintaining daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
· Identifying and participation in sales opportunities such as new contracts, contract renewals, and systems sales.
Qualifications:
· Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation
· Qualified entry-level candidates will be considered
· 2 years of management experience
· 5+ years of field service experience
· Aptitude in troubleshooting/configuring PLC,s (Allen Brandley, Siemens, and GE), drives (Siemens, ABB and Allen Bradley), and HMI packages is a plus
· Experience in metals processing is strongly preferred
· Willingness and desire to participate in on going training to maintain technical competence in automation products, software, and complementary areas.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio
· Communication skills both written and verbal are required
